JED has trained 65 new correspondents in DRC
JED (Journalist in Danger) organized from January 27 to February 1, 2007 three training workshops of its correspondents in the provinces of Bandundu, Bas-Congo, and Equator. These workshops were conducted respectively in the towns of Kikwit (Bandundu), Matadi (Bas-Congo), and Mbandaka (Equator). Overall, 65 new correspondents were recruited and trained on investigation techniques on allegations of attacks to freedom of the press and on writing alert notes (DFID). With these new correspondents, the total JED network of correspondents in DRC is now of 145 spread all over the country. These workshops were organized in partnership with the Paris Panos Institute (IPP) with the support of British cooperation.
