Reforms of the juridical frame of the press freedom practice: JED presents two tablets to the intention of the members of Congolese Parliament.

Within the framework of its program on the reforms of the juridical frame of the press freedom practice in DRC, JED has published, with the support of the French-British cooperation (FCI/DFID) and of GRET/European Union, two tablets regarding respectively the decriminalization of press offences entitled “decriminalization of the press offences in 10 questions.  Why and how have press offences to be decriminalized in DRC”; and the regulation under the title “DRC, the regulation in 10 questions, advocating in favor of CSAC, vector of democratic values”.  Since 16 May 2008, the National Assembly has initiated the review of a bill filed one year ago, by the opposition deputy Charles Bofassa Djema regarding the creation, the functioning and the scopes of CSAC (Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel et de la communication).

Press freedom defense and promotion in DR Congo: JED ENHANCES THE NETWORK OF ITS CORRESPONDENTS AT THE EAST OF DRC
Within the framework of the partnership contract signed with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), an American organization based in Washington, and which brings its support to democracy throughout the world, Journaliste en Danger (JED), is organizing in Kinshasa from 28 to 30 May 2009 a workshop on reinforcement of its correspondents' capacities, coming from four provinces of the east of DRC.

The UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, Mary Robinson, conducted a nine-day visit to the Great Lakes Region of Africa, starting 28 April 2013. After spending two days in Kinshasa where she met with the President of the Republic, Joseph Kabila, and UN officials, she travelled to Goma on 30 April, joined by Roger Meece, head of the UN Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO).
